Music Director - Evita

Ovation! Musical Theatre Bainbridge's mainstage arm seeks a Music Director for its June 28-July 14, 2014 production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice masterwork EVITA.  Ovation! Musical Theatre Bainbridge is a non-profit community performing arts organization based on Bainbridge Island - a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle - has a ten-year history of presenting critically acclaimed, challenging musical productions including Into The Woods, Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hansel and Gretel, and many more.  Over our history we have presented 24 mainstage shows which have included musical theatre, opera and operetta - all with a large, live orchestra.

The Music Director works as a partner to the Director (our resident Artistic Director Ron Milton) and participates in the audition and casting process, teaches the music to the cast, accompanies rehearsals, leads orchestra rehearsals and sitz probe and conducts the show from the pit.  Competitive stipend and ferry reimbursement available.  Our rehearsal studio is located at 600 Ericksen on Bainbridge Island -a short walk from the ferry terminal (and rides are arranged).  Auditions are slated for late February and rehearsals are scheduled to begin in early April 2014.  Typically, rehearsals are Tue and Thur evening and Sunday afternoons (with occasional Saturday afternoons as needed).  It is always Ovation!'s intent to bring the composer's objectives to life. This is a complex and difficult score and the first month of rehearsals will be devoted to the music only.

Ovation! Performing Arts Academy Instructors:

Ovation! is always looking for instructors to join its family.  Presently we are seeking an individual to teach a Monday afternoon (early dismissal) musical theatre class (beginning in January or February 2014) for youth performers and would like to add additional classes for adults and youth - both experienced and inexperienced.  If you would like to learn more, please email a resume to info@ovationmtb.com. You are welcome to propose a class you believe would work well for our organization based on your experience and qualifications.  Competitive stipend and beautiful rehearsal studio (professional dance floor) with piano available.
