Meet the Production Team of
The Sound of Music

Prior to moving to Seattle from New York City in 2010, Lisa Mandelkorn was performing roles such as Adele in Die Fledermaus, Rosina in Barber of Seville, and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel in such opera houses as New York City Opera, Lincoln Center Festival, and Glimmerglass Opera. Locally, she has appeared as Mary Poppins and the Mom in A Christmas Story (Bainbridge Performing Arts), Judy Garland in Judy Garland’s Scary Little Christmas (ArtsWest), and Donna in Mamma Mia (Seattle Musical Theater). She has been nominated twice for Best Actress by the Kitsap Sun and South Sound Critics Award. Ms. Mandelkorn directed Hansel and Gretel at BPA, music directed Into the Woods and Legally Blonde for teens at BPA, and co-music directed Les Miserables at Bainbridge Highschool. Additionally, Lisa has a thriving vocal studio with students from age 14 - 74 of all voice types. She loves helping her students find their true voices, giving them all the tools they need to make music their own way.

CHRIS DISTEFANO, Music Director

Chris DiStefano is a vocal coach and pianist, music director, and composer. His 15-year theatre career has taken him from actor to music director of over 300 productions, including main stage productions at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, children's theatre at Seattle Children's Theatre, and national touring productions of "The Wizard of Oz" and "Annie: The 30th Anniversary Production". Chris recently spent a year abroad in Paris to work on his composing and vocal coaching skills and feels that vocal coaching has been some of the most rewarding work of his career.
